Most people have seen one: the old car that sits in the driveway or backyard, slowly collecting dust and rust. It’s too far gone to sell privately and too much of a headache to deal with, so it stays put for months, sometimes years.
Local Cash For Cars, a Brisbane-based car buying service, wants to change that. The team buys unwanted, damaged and end-of-life vehicles from across the city and takes care of the process from the first phone call to pickup.
A lot of people assume a car in poor condition is worth nothing, or that getting rid of it will cost them money,” said a spokesperson for Local Cash For Cars. “Usually that’s not the case. Even a car that doesn’t run still has value, and we like to show people that.
For anyone looking for cash for scrap cars in Brisbane, the process is kept straightforward. The owner shares a few details about the vehicle, such as the make, model and condition, and gets a quote. If they’re happy with the offer, a time is arranged to collect the car, and payment is made when it leaves.
The service covers cars, vans, utes and 4WDs, whether they’re old, written off, damaged or simply no longer wanted. Owners don’t need to fix, clean or prepare anything before the pickup.
Local Cash For Cars also encourages owners to have their paperwork ready, including proof of ownership and ID, so the sale goes smoothly on the day.
Getting rid of a scrap vehicle also frees up space at home and keeps another abandoned car off the street. When a car is handled properly, its usable parts and metals can be recovered rather than left to deteriorate.
Brisbane residents who would like a quote or get in touch with the team directly through the website.
