Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta - A car that will not start is not a car with no value. Owners looking for cash for cars in Fort Saskatchewan often assume a dead engine ends the conversation. Same Day Cash For Cars buys vehicles that run and vehicles that do not. It tows them for free.

The company explains that a non-running car is priced by what it is made of. Weight, recoverable metal and reusable parts all carry worth, whether or not the engine turns over. The same logic applies to old, rusted or high-mileage cars at the end of their useful life.

Key facts

Vehicles bought: scrap, junk, non-running, damaged, accident and running cars
Towing: free on every vehicle bought
Payment: cash or e-transfer at pickup
Pickup: same day in most cases

Area: Fort Saskatchewan and nearby communities, including Bruderheim, Gibbons, Redwater and Sherwood Park

Junk, scrap and salvage are not the same

Sellers often use the three words as if they meant one thing. The company describes them differently. A junk car is an unwanted or old vehicle that may still run but has little resale value. A scrap car is at the end of its life and is valued mainly for its metal and parts. A salvage vehicle has a branded status or damage history and is often repairable rather than dead.

Sellers do not need to classify the car before calling. The quote reflects the condition the seller describes.

What shapes the offer

Four things set the figure. They are the weight of the vehicle, the current price of scrap metal, any salvageable parts, and the year, make and condition of the car. Heavier vehicles hold more recoverable metal. Metal prices change, so two similar cars can be worth different amounts in different months.

How a sale works

Sellers can call (780) 934-3646 or use the company's website to ask for an offer. The company then arranges pickup. The truck can collect a car from a garage, driveway, parking lot or acreage. Payment is made at pickup by cash or e-transfer, and the sale is documented.
