The Objectivist movement is now explorable in virtual reality. Peikoff.net has opened a fully interactive 3D simulation of the movement, building on the Interactive Atlas of Objectivism that Postsocialist Press released in early summer with a directory of Objectivist blogs and an interactive 2D entity-relationship graph. The atlas's underlying D1 SQLite database has grown continuously since publication, and that expanded dataset now drives an immersive world available directly through Peikoff.net.
The world currently documents roughly 623 individuals and 140 organizations, including, in many cases, published works, relationships, and affiliations. These counts are expected to rise as data collection continues.
Visitors can color or shade individuals dynamically by role, organization, organization category, living or deceased status, publication count, affiliation count, and other fields. Figures with more than one known institutional affiliation walk between the buildings representing their organizations. Websites appear as fish moving through the stream, each clickable or tappable, and selecting any person or building opens an information card.
The simulation's defining feature is that every character is a true AI. Logged-in users can converse with them, and character memories occasionally persist across sessions.
The Peikoff.net landing page also offers a directory of Objectivist websites through its terminal. Users can enter VR by clicking the overlay or issuing the /atlas command. The terminal is a novelty and requires no prior knowledge to use.
