FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Oxford, UK, 20 October 2026

The most useful AI in HR technology may not be a chatbot. It may be a tool that does one expert job, in one system, very well.

FormulaX, from Oxford consultancy MKSK Consulting, is the first AI Fast Formula generator, created by MKSK to generate, explain and validate Oracle Fast Formulas for Oracle Cloud HCM teams. A user describes a business rule in plain English. FormulaX asks clarifying questions about timing, effective dates and exceptions, then generates the Fast Formula, with readable code, the reasoning behind it, and test cases a reviewer can check.

Fast Formulas matter because they run real money. They sit behind payroll calculations, absence accruals, benefits eligibility and workforce compensation in Oracle Cloud HCM. They are also scarce work. Writing one well takes specialist skill, changes queue up behind a small number of experts, and inherited formulas are often hard to understand until they fail in testing.

FormulaX covers the full cycle. It generates new formulas from a plain English requirement or from policy wording. It explains existing formulas line by line, so a team can understand logic it inherited before changing it. It validates structure, syntax and result variables before a formula reaches testing or payroll. Teams can import their existing formula library and keep versioning and change history in managed workspaces.

The main formula types are covered: Payroll, Absence and Eligibility, Benefits, Workforce Compensation, Validation, and Custom Business Rules. Early use centres on overtime and shift premiums, absence accruals and eligibility, and bonus and commission eligibility.

In live demonstrations, functional consultants have produced formulas that previously needed a technical developer, with formula development time reduced by 60 to 80 per cent and turnaround cut from days to hours. Specialists still review every output. The change is where their time goes: judgement, not typing.

FormulaX is part of the MKSK X Cloud Platform, alongside ScheduleX for Oracle Cloud HCM, MKSK's work schedule tool. Both products were built by MKSK consultants for bottlenecks they met on live programmes.

Mohammed Khan, Director, Oracle Division at MKSK Consulting, said: "The rule is usually clear in the policy. The slow part is turning it into a correct Fast Formula and proving it does what the business meant. FormulaX removes that delay, and keeps the specialist in charge of the decisions that matter."

FormulaX is available now. Bring one Fast Formula you would normally hand to a developer and MKSK will generate it live in a demonstration: https://www.mksk.co.uk/services/ai-fast-formula-generator/ or [email protected].
