Hospital’s cardiology team launches an awareness drive to help people tell a heart attack from acidity and act in time

Chandigarh, October 22, 2026: Kare Partners Heart & Critical Care Hospital, Sector 19, Chandigarh, has launched a public awareness initiative on the early warning signs of a heart attack. Many people mistake chest discomfort for gas or acidity and wait too long before seeking help.

The cardiology team says chest pressure or tightness, pain spreading to the arm, jaw or back, breathlessness, unusual sweating and sudden fatigue should never be brushed aside. This matters most for people with diabetes, high blood pressure or a family history of heart disease.

“In a heart attack, every minute matters. Reaching a hospital with a fully equipped cath lab and an experienced team early can make a real difference to recovery,” said Dr. Karandeep Singh Syal, Consultant Interventional Cardiologist, Kare Partners Heart Centre.

As part of the drive, the hospital is sharing short educational videos and infographics on its website and social media channels. They explain the warning signs in simple language so families know when to seek emergency care.
